WHAT ARE COOKIES?
A cookie is a piece of data sent by the website to the user’s web browser (a personal computer, a notebook, a smartphone, a tablet; in general, cookies are collected directly on the browser used for the navigation). The same website that transmitted them, can read and save cookies that are on the same device in order to obtain various types of information. Every type of cookies has a defined objective.

HOW MANY TYPES OF COOKIES EXIST?
Two fundamental types of cookies exist: technical cookies and profiling cookies. Technical cookies are generally necessary for the correct functioning of the website and to allow the navigation and to operate the service demanded by the user; without them, you may not be able to correctly view pages or to use some services. For instance, a technical cookie is fundamental to keep the user connected during all his/her visit in the website, or to memorize settings of language, view, etc.

Technical cookies (for which user consensus is not requested) may be distinguished in:
navigation cookie, that guarantee the normal use of the website (allowing, for instance, to make a purchase or to log in reserved areas);
analytics cookies, like technical cookies only when used directly by the website manager to collect information, in aggregate form, on the number of users and how they visit the website.
functionality cookies, that allow the user to navigate according to a series of selected criteria (for instance, language, selected products for the purchase) in order to improve the service provided to the user.

Profiling cookies are used to keep track of users’ navigation and create profiles on their tastes, habits, choices, etc. With these cookies advertising messages can be transmitted to the user according to his/her preferences that the user showed during the website navigation.

Cookies may again be classified as follow:
session cookies, that are cancelled immediately when the user closes the navigation browser;
persistent cookies, that – differently from session cookies – stay inside the browser for a determined period. They are used, for instance, to recognize which device is connected to the website so that users’ authentication operations are facilitated;
first-part cookie created and managed directly by the website manager, that the user is visiting;
third-part cookie created and managed by different subjects than the website manager that the user is visiting. Those cookies are set by a website different than the one the user is visiting. This is because in every website some elements (images, maps, sounds, specific links towards other domains’ webpages, etc.) resided on a server different from the one visited might be present.

WHICH COOKIES ARE USED BY D&C S.p.A.?
Based on these aims, cookies in this website are distinguished in technical cookies of navigation and functionality and analytical cookies.
By using technical cookies, aimed to guarantee the correct functioning of the website because they enable functions that facilitate user navigation and are considered strictly necessary, because information stockage is fundamental to provide a service requested by the user.
Furthermore, technical cookies cannot be disabled and for their installation a previous consensus is not demanded to users (in accordance with the art. 122 of the Personal Data Protection Code).
Analytical cookies, that can be first and third-party cookies, are installed to collect information about the website use. They are useful to statistically analyse website access and visits and to allow the owner to improve its structure, its navigation mechanisms, and its contents. Collected information are used to make statistical analysis with the aim to make contents more interesting and relevant to the users’ preferences.
Analytical cookies are not essential to the website functioning, so user consensus is not required for the installation.

To improve our website and to understand which parts and elements are mostly appreciated by users, we use, as anonymous analysis instrument, a third-parties cookie that is Google Analytics.
This cookie is not managed by us, so for further information it is possible to consult Google policy by clicking on this link: http://www.google.it/policies/privacy/partners/

_gid Google Analytics Cookie Google Analytics 24 hours Used to distinguish users
_gat Google Analytics Cookie Google Analytics 1 minute Used to limit the request rate
